Bamforth Leisure Limited T/A Lu’s Place Terms & Conditions

Lu's Place is an independent café relying upon bookings being honoured by our guests or sufficient notice being given of any required changes. We therefore kindly request that diners give us a minimum of 24 hours notification if a cancellation or an amendment is required.

As standard we require card details for reservations of over 6 guests. However, we reserve the right to request and hold card details for all bookings during peak periods. These are held in a secure PCI-DSS compliant vault. Bookings are not secure until card details have been received.

We require a non-refundable/transferable deposit of £10pp for afternoon tea and bookings of 8 or more guests. Deposits will be deducted from the final bill on the day of your booking based on the number of guests who attend. Special events and experiences may also be subject to a non-refundable/transferable advance payment per person to secure bookings. 

A pre-order is required for parties of 8 or more, you will receive this via email with a link to complete.

Please do not arrive any earlier than your booking time as your table may not be ready and we do not have a waiting area. We have a 15-minute grace period, please call us if you are running late otherwise your booking may be cancelled. Unfortunately, we are unable to extend your booking time in the event you are late due to allocated timeslots as detailed on your booking and reminder emails/texts.

We will try to accommodate any table requests but are unable to guarantee specific areas.

We reserve the right to alter, amend or foreclose any promotional offers without prior notice. We may also amend our published menu prices at any time without notice.

No own food or drink is to be brought onto the premises without prior permission. Bringing a celebratory cake? Please note there will be a £5 charge added to your bill.  A £10 fee will be applied to all VIP Pod bookings. Management reserves the right to refuse alcoholic drinks to guests already in high spirits.

All children using the ‘Giraffe World Inflatable’ (when available), do so at their own risk and must be supervised by an adult at all times.

A discretionary 10% service charge will be applied to all bills.

Please note, we are a cashless venue.

Cancellation Terms

We kindly request that diners give us a minimum of 24 hours notification if a cancellation or an amendment is required. No shows, late cancellations or changes made to the number of guests will be subject to a £10pp cancellation fee taken from the card on file (or we will retain deposits/experience fees, where paid in advance). The cancellation fee reflects the cost incurred by Lu’s Place in terms of staffing, food, and any lost revenue because of turning away other potential bookings.

Large Party & Private Hire Bookings

We require a minimum 50% deposit for any large party or private hire bookings. All deposits are non-refundable/transferable and can be invoiced to clients to pay by secure card link/BACS or taken automatically from card details held on our system. Bookings are not confirmed until payments have been successfully received. The number of guests must be confirmed together with a pre-order (where applicable) and the final balance paid a minimum 7 days in advance of the booking date.


Lu’s Place will not take responsibility or refund any online orders that have been placed by mistake. When payment has been taken the order is being processed and a refund will not be issued. If an order is received that is incorrect or not meeting the high standards of Lu’s Place, this must be reported to a team member straight away, where Lu’s Place can come to a suitable resolution with the customer.

If a full or part refund is due, this will be processed on the same day where possible, and the refund will then be received on the payment card that was used within 3-5 business days.


Our vouchers are issued by a third-party provider.

Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase (unless stated otherwise or as part of a promotion). Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash in part or full, however, they can be part-redeemed and used over several visits. Vouchers are only redeemable in store and not for online transactions.

Takeaway Food

Any food taken away from Lu’s Place should be consumed immediately. We are not able to guarantee the temperature that the food has been stored at once it has left our kitchen. By taking food away, you accept responsibility for the safe storage and consumption of food.
